Been on the hunt for one of these snares for years. I absolutely love Rosewood drums, and I also love Pork Pie. This one, the first time I saw one, I knew I had to have it. Only 20 were made, apparently for artists only. Very fortunate to own this mint piece.

Drum is 14x7 solid Rosewood. I'll have to check with Bill on what the rings are. Limited gold badge on both sides. Won't get to play it until this weekend. Headed to Nashville for Thanksgiving with my wife's family. Had to share!

Beautiful color, love it. If it looks this good bet is sounds as good or better.

Bill makes quality instruments, I picked up a Spotted Gum snare and a little squealer a while back as a package from a pawn shop for $275 combined with hard cases and I was impressed by the workmanship on the Spotted Gum,,,,,,,the shell was made by Paul Weary of Metro Drums in Australia

I wonder who made the rosewood shell......it is a stunner with a cool limited production as well. Nice score.

How does it sound?

Vaughncraft made the shell for these. Those Spotted Gum are amazing! I haven't gotten to play it yet. Had to go straight to Nashville for the week for Thanksgiving

Finally got a chance to play this today after being in Nashville all week. Got custom ears done at Alclair while I was there!

Surprised to find this snare has matching Rosewood rings. I always thought they were maple on these, but nope. THIS is by far the best Rosewood, possibly best snare I've ever owned. If this is what a solid shell is supposed to be, my others haven't lived up to this one. Extremely sensitive, full, and cracks all at the same time.

It looks almost just like my Temple Brazilian Rosewood snare, but I'm still not sure of the species, and neither was Bill when I asked. Still a phenomenal drum.

Here's a quick video

Contacted Bill and Ron from Vaughncraft in hopes either could tell me what species rosewood this one is. Neither can remember unfortunately. Not a big deal, just curious mostly. Anyway, here's all 3 of my rosewoods together, and a video!
