Oh Lordy Lordy! When did you win the lottery!
I bought my first Signature snare in 1988.
A long time ago.
Thats the result of 33 years G.A.S.
Oh Lordy Lordy! When did you win the lottery!
Thank youHLD-582 what an ear splitting beast.
Congrats on the discipline this must've taken to attain over the years.
Those kits are amazing! I would love to see more pics What are the sizes?Yes, I play a Signature double bass kit and a huge Hi tech kit
For our gigs I play a smaller set up with my Performer Plus.
Actually he has enough for February lolWow! A few more and you could play a different one every day for a month. How many stands do you have?
Not sure what they cost individually, but let's just say it's probably $20k in snares at least...Oh Lordy Lordy! When did you win the lottery!
I noticed that all the drums except the 12" one is 14"... any particular reason there are no 13" snares?Hey guys!

How long did it take to make the list?
You have done one hellova great job In 33 years of collecting mate!!!Hey!
I decided for many years that I will only collect snares from the Horst Link era. I sold my Pearl, Yamaha, Mapex & Kirchhoff snares.
And in the 80ies there are no 13“ Sonor snares in the series Signature, Phonic, Lite, Hilite modern/available.
I guess this 13“ trend comes later.
My love of sonor certainly comes from Nicko McBrain! He played in the golden Maiden times these Sonor drums I dreamed of. And I live in driving distance to the Sonor factory
„The list“ means how many years I need for this collection? 33 years
Amazing - looking at your Hi Tech kit I can just hear "Caught Somewhere In Time" and "Alexander The Great" playing in my head. What an awesome collection!Thank you!
The Signatur pic is shown with two 22“ kicks, 8“-13“ TT and the 18“ x 19“ FLT.
Main snare is a Tama Rosewood in 14“ x 6,5“ (the same Alex Van Halen played in his early years) and a 12“ 5“ Designer side snare. Cymbal are Paiste Signature Line (what else )
At home there are 6, 14, 15, 16“ TT in square sizes, 16“ x 18“ FLT and tons of Signature hardware & cases.
Hi Tech series:
I have 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16“ TT in square sizes, two 24“ kicks, 16“ & 18“ FLT + four snares. And also tons of the black hardware.
For this set I powder coated the hardware of my Tama Octobans low pitch set in black.
I love the play Octobans like Simon Phillips (another hero of me).
Yeah! Thats the reason I was hunting for about 20 years to own that Maiden feeling!Amazing - looking at your Hi Tech kit I can just hear "Caught Somewhere In Time" and "Alexander The Great" playing in my head. What an awesome collection!
More pics
I hope these helps a little bit to cheer up in this dull corona times...
With my new vintage Sonor octoban babies integrated.
For these I have to built a second floor of the fantastic Pearl rack.
And yes, its playable
(I am 2,0 meters tall. Like Danny Carey).
Yeah! Thats the reason I was hunting for about 20 years to own that Maiden feeling!
For me its my all time favorite finish
By the way, I like your avatar very much
UP THE IRONS!
Thanks!What cymbals exactly?
Great set!
Thank you!Thank you! Up the Irons! \m/>.<\m/
I've got a small Phonic Plus set myself (8x8, 10x10, 12x12, 16x18, (2x)22x18), but I've always dreamt of building a replica of Nicko's Hi-Tech kit. I like your open-handed setup too, very reminiscent of Simon Phillips! I assume that's a 22" Signature Heavy China and 22" Powerslave Bell Ride up top?
