If you wanted to play hard rock / metal... and could only use 4 cymbals, what would they be? I would guess: Hi-hat Crash Ride China Does this sound like the best combination of 4??? or would you switch out something for a splash (china or ride)??? Thanks

What dictates whether you keep time with the hi-hat or ride? It seems like most rock/metal drummers use the hi-hat most of the time. Why would you ever use the ride in a metal song over the hi-hat? Is it all just personal preference, or is there a specific reason? Thanks
