Hi. I'm not a drummer, but I notice some hi-hats seem to make a 'clicking' hi bell tone on the attack whereas others do not. Is this something to do with how the hi-hats are set up (i.e. not dampened) or is it where the hi-hat cymbals are hit ...or the type of hi-hats? Thanks

Hello. I really need to understand what Carlton Barrett is doing. It's for a paper on Reggae & Dub music. Are the hi-hats being hit in the center to create those tinging, bell-like tones or is he tapping the ride cymbal in the center to get those sounds, alternating between the two... perhaps...
