Will a used 6 piece Pearl World Series sound good?

I asked the same question on another forum about that white pearl export vs that new pdp custom maple and everyone was saying that it's overpriced and i could find much better drums and cymbals for a budget of $1100. All the kits they suggested aren't available to me but i found some new ones on gumtree this morning.

How do these Tama kits compare with the pdp custom maple or the export?
1. Tama Stagestar ($950): https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/loganholme/percussion-drums/tama-5-piece-drum-kit/1208813607
2. Tama Stagestar ($1080): https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1026003684397901/
3. Tama Imperialstar ($850 plus $250 for cymbals): https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/537234947059335/

Thanks for the help guys

I think the PDP is still your best option if you can afford it. My second choice would still be the new-ish Exports.

I don't know much about the Stagestars, but from a quick google search they're made of Philippine mahogany...and it seems they weren't really marketed in the US. Make of that what you will.

Imperialstars are made of Poplar. Translation: they're cheap. But I'm sure the hardware isn't bad.

IMG-20220609-WA0011.jpgStill happy with my World Series, but I have to admit it is not my gigging kit anymore. I still use it for the weekly practice with the band. Still sounds good. But I agree what others say about the position of the toms. Toms on modern kits are easier to adjust.

Not bad drums at all. 10 lug bass drum (vs 8 on the Export).
Indeed. There are some thing better on modermn drums, but when the World Series was modern it was a realy nice, easy to tune, versatile kit. And affordable. And as i said: the sound is still very good. Even the sound of the snare is better than a lot of snares nowadays, although I prefer wooden snares last years.
