What's your latest purchase?

What a beauty!
Thanks! Purchased for my recording studio, I had to find something that would be decent enough to allow my drummer to leave his Nashville Slingerlands at home. Can’t wait to get them set up with new heads and have him tune them up properly.

They are replacing a big old set of Pearl World Series.

Thanks I’m pretty excited. Too nice a set for a bass player to own…

That's kinda funny, my 100th anv kit came from a bass player... literally sat in a room for 35 years untouched... bass players are odd :)

Yes we can be an odd lot, we bass players. These will definitely get used, though. I’ve got an active recording/rehearsal space.

Here is the kit that it’s replacing. My son, who’s a keys guy, used it to record demos of the musical he wrote. Mainly I clutter up the place with Vintage Ibanez stuff….

I have definitely checked out his channel! Especially during the pandemic. Great guy.

My wife forced me again to buy this flawless 18x16 MHX floor tom yesterday! Its a BEAST! I was out and they pulled me back in!
The Tom was on eBay but as luck would have it it was 20 miles away at Musicgoround in a suburb of milwaukee (greenfield Wi).

Hello everyone. Saturday I received my Christmas gift to myself. A 22" Constantinople Renaissance cymbal, coming in at 2466g. It's beautiful instrument. It will take me a week or so on were all the sweet spots are and how to play it. I did put two small moon gels on the outer edge to tame the wash just a little. The bell sound is gorgeous. This a true jazz lovers cymbal (instrument).

Hey, this is not too much cluttered, I have the same room with 7 keys in an L shape, 3 basses, 5 guitars and the room for 3 female singers....I did that in an 12.5X16.5' room because girls are always cold!!! Not anymore when we all play in the same room...(3 girls + keys/bass/guitar/drums).

Not here yet, I will pick it up in Friday to get the 90 days no payment (so, just the time to get my anniversary and Christmas cash for parents to pay for it...) And extended warranty but decided to invest in a proper 1176 Urei/UA compressor clone, Black Lion Audio Bluey:

I learnt a lot about compressors recently with my DBX 1066, my Drawmer DL241 and 221 and the compressor on the UA LA610 MK2 PREAMP, plus the ones included in the preamps on the OH, on the MXL preamp MPAC-01....Ha yes, and the stereo one on the run bus, Chameleon labs he differnce in result with drums is so explicit co Ltd to vocals that when you have spent the one to master it (after having read a lot and printed a lot of recap and cheat sheet about its use), it's such a powerfull tool.
My concern now is that, all 3 Snares have and and kick had compressor, this one is the most high end I have, where should Jour it? Kick, snares?

I picked it up and installed it, I tried it on Kick and Snare, it's crazy good!!! Now, I still have 3 empty spots in the rack, WHAT!!??? NOT GOOD!!! Ok, one will be filed with a power conditioner, top spot, and I was planning one more Dramwer Ds201 Gate for Snares 2&3 bottom mics on the kit and another Drawmer Comp DL241 or DBX 1066 but after having heard the king of glue and punch a good 1176 Compressor clone is doing, I might wait and spend a bit much than the usual 200/300$ for the former...Maybe a Bus Compressor, the only one that I have, the Chameleon Labs 7720 is already on the Drums bus. I understand now why big studios have multiple compressors like the Urei/Universal Audio 1176 and UA LA2A, they could be used on everything so, if they want to use them at the mixdown stage, they have to have several....Not my budget though...
Or a second one, the same, for linking them (there is a connector for that) and have them do it too???

Got this 10” Tom - jarrah w/maple re-ring to go with my 12 and 14 maple Sleishman toms. It sounds really good tweaked up. I’m gonna get a kick and then wrap them in some sort of pink champagne wrap.
