New Drummerworld Group on Facebook...

If forum members haven’t checked out FB DW site you are missing some phenomenal drumming. If not a FB fan it still would be worth it for that group alone. Just the FB members joining the group posting videos are just phenomenal besides well known drummers. Besides wildlife groups the Drummerworld Facebook page is now my favorite. Thank you Bernhard!!!!

I truly appreciate this site and the work of Bernard and all here, but I am opposed to FB for a lengthy list of reasons.

My loss. :(

FB is insane I hate I friended old friends I haven’t kept up with that I find have gone insane since I’ve seen them last. I worry others will see their crap. But it’s Good,Bad,and Ugly . I mostly ignore bad and ugly and seek the good stuff- often wildlife snd nature - AND now the DW FB page. I seriously mean it is worth the look. It’s constant fabulous and seriously better than Playing section here. Tal Bergman has been posting short videos that are stellar- he’s on DW list . He’s just one of many. https://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Tal_Bergman.html

why this Facebook Page - we have the forum?
During the last years i accumulated on my private personal Facebook Page the max. of 5000 friends. Of course i have only 10 friends in reality - all the others are Drummerworld related. So i decided to separate them and make a Drummerworld Group without thinking too much. Let's see, how it develops and i try to push the people there then to the forum, ok? Feel free to post there - these ore no real discussions as in the forum, just likes - but anyway - what do you think should i do - what do you propose? thanks a lot - Bernhard

Keep doing what your doing Bernhard both DW and DW-FB page are fabulous. I haven’t thought about it but I hope many of those posting on FB, who haven’t participated here, will do so here. A great way to recruit more forum members and perhaps interest in DW drummers list if you ask them- since apparently some have not wanted their names associated with site. Seems fabulous drummers flocking to FB site so I hope it grows into DW growth.

I would propose that you do as you are doing to gain attention for, and draw people to, this great website.
Sadly, the realities are that not all methods of promotion are wholly unpleasant, and if FB is a tool that you can use to promote DW then you possibly should, but please realize that is a deeply compromised site with questionable connections and demonstrably negative effects.
There are some people who will not go there, under any circumstances, even for a fine resource like DW.

Again, thank you for this place here. :)

I second this. My list of disdain for all things Zuckerbot 2.0 may even be longer than @wraub

Thanks as always for your efforts in spreading drumming Bernhard!

Social media is only annoying if you let it. Sure it’s Good,Bad,and Ugly but that pretty much reflects life. I either ignore the bad and ugly or play baited mind games and watch it explode- I know I’m terrible. Sometimes Ido social experiments-I like you can agree with people, rant with them, but insidiously lead to accept counter arguments because they put their ideological guard down and think reasonably. Now thst don’t mean I’m a sociopath just testing all the psycho stuff I read about. My Dad was a master at chess and mind games so he was always setting myself or visiting friends up for info. He was probably a sociopath lol

Nope. Still a worthless platform unless you're an advertiser looking to stroke your greed.

Social media is not for chatting up things, it’s designed to track you, accumulate data on you and sell it to entities here & abroad without your knowledge or consent. You are being categorized and tee’d up for a constant stream of advertising designed to keep your head in the sand. Caveat emptor.

Yeah but I’m pretty sure that “someone/some govt” is always accumulating my data anyways. I don’t pay much attention to ads and lots of misinfo/disinformation so I look at nature groups, music groups , and friends. You can’t escape the bull crap on any media hardly and when you search a search engine it’s a crafted display. FB is the Wild West of disinformation for sure. It’s amazing to me that with the huge growth of real information I think the disinformation tops it- that snd porno lol

I didn't know that there is such a debate. Anyway we have managed to have all the three administrators from Forum over there too with all power - but we had till now in this month no one case to do something other that accepting members. Only trouble till now: extending sending promotinal videos from some drummers, but they go down the page very quick and dissappear in the shadow... - Bernhard

Thats is because they are there to display, chat about, and play drums. Not to try and solve the worlds problems or argue petty dislikes. There has not been one issue on the FB page.
