Show off your TAMA !

Congrats on finding a 16x16! Gorgeous set, Doug!
Many thanks, Clint. Taking them out next weekend.

Those look killer. I bet they sound great too. I really think Tama has it all going on right now across all the price points.
They sound great, thanks - coated pinstripes - great sound out of these maples. Agree Tama has had it going on - these drums are more than 12 years old.

Tomtom. You've got some really nice kits. I bet that Star kit is really some thing. Some day I'm gonna get an older performer kit. I like Tamas, I'm quite happy with my yammies though too.

posted in another thread but here, again honey, amber gold 4pc.:

You should lift your bassdrum-fornt a bit. It is touching the floor which is not good.

I see this again and again when drummers post pics of their drumsets. Bassdrums touching the floor. Ground-contact should be minimized for optimal sound.

I knew a drummer who would have like 4 inches of space between the floor and the reso hoop. He ran a ported head. If you stood 10 feet away....but were in the firing line of the port....you would feel a puff of air...on your face! It took me a while to figure out that it was coming from the bass drum, because I would just walk by and feel a puff...wtf? His bass drum was angled so far up, that he must have split bass drum heads a lot quicker.

Everyone. Is. Different.

Halldor, do you find the single tom holder/stand makes much difference to the sound over a snare basket?

Thanks

Dave

Here's my 1979 Tama Superstar Natural Maple.
The dimensions are 22X14, 12X8, 13X9, 16X16.
It goes pretty well with my vintage Tama Bell Brass.

Those are gorgeous. I love the natural finish. I had a set of Superstars in super mahogany from 1983 that I got rid of about 9 years ago. I really regret that. Never got around to tuning them properly so ,sadly, never played them at their full potential.

Really nice stuff !! That blue sparkle kit is so pretty. If I ever get another maple kit it'll be a Starclassic.

Very nice kits. You even have them set up the right way.

Nothing crazy but is my first kit. For me is bad ass lol :D

That's a lot nicer than my first kit was. Enjoy and don't forget to practice. :)

I finally have a Tama performer kit. I've been wanting one next to forever. I'm still waiting on tom holders to arrive, they didn't show up with the kit.

Nice set, been playing one since they came out, love that kit. I have 22/8/10/12/14 and several non-Tama snares.

Has been a very solid kit for me over the years.

Hello guys! It's me again!
This time with something really, really special :))
"The Holy Grail" among snares! Snare is 15 years old, superb condition!

Tama Bell Brass 14x6,5 , 3mm cast bronze shell,
Lars Ulrich signature (Scorched earth finish), very rare,
150 pieces worldwide, this one is #100. It weights 13 kilos!? Also worth a fortune!
