Jason got a set of drums for his 14th birthday and found hitting metal and plastic with bits of wood theraputic. He has played in so many original bands both in South Africa and the UK that he can no longer recall all of their names.
SWARM is his first cover band and he is having a blast. His favourite moments with Swarm are when the band launches into improvisational instrumentals that feel and sound rehearsed. Reversing the Swarmobile onto a traffic island outside a club just as all where emerging, is an embarassement he fondly remembers. 'At least I got one more round of applause that night,' he says.
Jason plays Pearl drums and Paiste 2002 cymbals. He goes through one pair of Vater 5a sticks every one and a half gigs. His most influencial drummers are John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Phil Collins, John Densmore (The Doors), Charlie Watts and Phil Rudd (AC/DC).
