Sorry in advance for the long post. I’m looking to get a new kit for jazz, I’ve recently saved up some extra cash and I’d like to invest in a kit that a bit more in line with my current path in music. Jazz is a very ambiguous term considering how much music in encompasses, so I’m not sure how...
Hey guys! Tell me what you think about it.
Here is a drum solo over "Beautiful Love" by Victor Young.

I'm looking for a new kit: something to play jazz , although I do occasionally play rock and folk as well as reggae. Right now one of my main options is the Mapex Meridian Maple. Now, I've seen a demo for something called the "Mapex Meridian Maple," which the guy doing the demo did not advise...
was at a radio station last night and the musicians decided to jam! We played Oleo, never played with these guys before but it was fun! Me on drums. Comments and criticism appreciated!

Hi everyone,
Here is the way I work out the jazz soloing.
Writing first ideas for the snare and bas drum and putting them in a 2 bar phrase finally resulting in a 16 bar solo. Can be applied for any style.
All the ideas are accumulation of all I had heard here + a concept of broken 6 stroke roll...
I am going to be playing two styles of music on my new kit:
Jazz/Funk/Fusion
and
Rock/Metal
So should i buy a jazz kit and play jazz and rock on it?
Or a rock kit and play rock and jazz on it?
Thanks a lot in advance :DDD
