Default Yamaha MCA stock heads

hello

i bought a yamaha MCA less than one year.

on the clear toms stock heads its written "yamaha batter BE made by remo" ("yamaha batter" on reso)

im not sure but is it the equivalent to remo clear emperor (seems to be a little bit thicker than 1 ply) ?

thanks a lot

I've never found stock heads to sound anything as good as what they're marked to be. Don't know why. Factory seconds, maybe? Whenever I've gotten them I replace them immediately.
But if it says "Emperor by Remo", chances are it might be as thick as an Emperor, but it's hard to say if it's a real one. I'm guessing not. And the reason is, I'm guessing, if a manufacturer makes a kit to sell for $400, they're not going to want to invest another $100+ on real heads.

Sorry, my mistake. Whatever a "BE" is....Batter Emperor?....hard to say. They're probably close to that thickness, but I don't know. I would guess that if they were, they still wouldn't sound as good as a real set of Emperors. There's doubtless some shortcuts taken to make those cheaper heads.
So, they may be as thick, but probably not sound as good.

I know that my Yamaha Maple Absolute Custom kit came with Remo heads, but it's too long ago to remember exactly which ones. I think they were Ambassadors top and bottom of the toms.

Unlike a cheap kit he MCA's come with fairly decent heads but when I had my MCA's the best sounding head combo I could find was Aquarian studio x over classic clears, coated studio x on snare and ported SK1 with regulator front on kick, I also used this head configuration on my Pearl Masters and still use it on my Radials, seems to bring out the best of maple shelled kits.

BE is a like an Emperor, BA is like an Ambassador... but made for super cheap => low quality
