Default Hi-Hat Question

Hey Guys,

My hi-hat stand (yamaha, not sure what model) is squeaking. a lot. I have tried lubricating the rod at the top and bottom, but the squeaking is still present. I was wondering if anyone of you had this problem/knew how to fix it.

Thanks
Leo

lubricate all parts of the chain mechanism, and all the screw parts that the pedal is attached to.

I have a feeling what's squeaking is the pin that connects the heel to the pedal. Try spraying a little WD40 in there and see what happens. There's no other place it can squeak except there, unless your hi-hat clutch is a tad loose and it's scraping against the pull rod when you depress the pedal.
