Default Zildjian Mangini Signatures or Promark Oak?

I recently broke my favourite sticks, which were Vater Maple sticks, and I really want to use something thin and heavy as opposed to the fat light things I was using prior. Which sticks would you say are better?

The ones that feel most comfortable in your hands.

I guessed that, but I'm not 100% sure if they sell the Zildjian sticks, so would the Promarks be pretty similar?

If your Vater maple sticks were your favourites, you may keep the same size but in hickory, an heavier wood, more resistant.

For thinner sticks, Promark is a good choice (for example Vater 5A is 0,57" in diameter, while Promark 5A is 0,551").

Mangini signature sticks are in birch wood, weighing very much more.

i used to use the mangini's... they're like a 5a but a bit longer (16.5") and very very heavy... im talking heavier than my 2bs. i did like them for quite some time however im tossing up between vic firth stanton moores, HD9's and gavin harrisons atm.

Thanks for the replies guys! But after looking at ALL the sticks in the shop, I ended up falling in love with the Pro Mark Joey Jordison sticks :P
I suppose that's how it works. Go in for one thing end up with the opposite

I personally like the mangini's. Though I'm only using them until I get my new sticks on order. I like their weight and balance, but they are far too thin for me. I have a pair of Vic firth Ralf hardimon indoor sticks and ms4 magnums on order that I'm looking forward to

Personally, IMO anything is better than Vater. Yuck.

I love Zildjian sticks but I'm not familiar with the Mangini ones. I say Pro Mark Oaks.

See I would say the opposite, everything else yuck, Vater=Love. But I really like the Mangini sig's. They have the density and durability of oak but with the vibration reduction of hickory. But Fatback 3As by Vater are my absolute favorite

Thin and Heavy? Go with the Zildjian laminated heavy jazz 7A's. Slender, heavy, dense. they might fit your bill.
