Default Yep.I Bought Another Kit.

I just got a used Ludwig Bonham reissue in cherry finish.
12x14
16x16
16x18
14x26
LM402
2- snare stands

It seems to be in decent shape. It has a few dings and needs a good cleaning. The previous owner said it's three years old. I plan on re-heading and overhauling it tomorrow. I will try to have some pics tomorrow night.

When did Ludwig start putting gaskets on snares? The Supra appeasr to be newish but has no gaskets.

LOL!!!

Overhaul is in progress. Cleaned, polished and put new heads on the toms and snare.Of course I had to order kick heads! Sorry about the pics .No room to set them up in my house. It's going to be a few days before I can get decent shots.

Yes, it's a Craigslist score.. I had seen it listed several times, The price kept dropping. I had begun to think something was wrong with it. I finally had to jump on it.

I'm talking about the rubbers gaskets on the lugs.

Thanks guys!

Congrats.........always loved the Bonham sizes..............a lot of guys removed the gaskets on the newer supras to make them sound better.........that may be what happened.

Guys who buy Ludwig Bonham kits have an inner-nerdyness we don't see. It would betray their cool exteriors.

Bonham himself was very meticulous about his gear although he never showed it, remember.

I still haven't put this thing together completely. Tonight,I tuned it up for the first time. I haven't got all the hardware sorted out. I'm building a snare stand for the rack tom out of assorted scrap hardware but I will throw up a few bad pics ,anyway.

It's a Tama cymbal stand base with a Pearl top/basket. It was a bit too tall. I ended up using a multi- clamp to bring it down a bit.I will be in my mad scientist's laboratory building a permanent replacement later today. :)

Great idea. That could reduce hardware too for folks who mount toms in snare stands.
In other words, snare basket is offset from the cymbal stand with the dogbone clamp, and the cymbal sits on top of that cymbal stand. I gotta try that (but tom must be too/pretty heavy for that?).

I don't plan on keeping it this way. It was just an attempt to get the tom high enough. The original plan was just to stick the top of a snare stand stuck into a cymbal stand bottom ..It was too tall. My roommate and i are building an extra tall snare stand, right now. If this doesn't work, I will just hack off an inch or to from the cymbal stand base.

I agree 100% The new Giant Beats sound so much bigger and better to me than the new 2002's. I have a 14" giant beat top hat over an Alpha bottom and it is incredible IMO.

BTW Why have 2 kits the same? Nothing wrong with it I am just curious.

I was checking CL for Supras or Acros and it popped up in my search. I had seen it listed before. This time it was $600 cheaper! Since I was snare shopping anyway,I couldn't pass it. up. Right place, right time.

That and I love 26" kicks.
