Default Foot shaker?

I'm working on "Sympathy for the Devil" and found a video of a guy on YouTube doing it with a shaker mounted to his foot. Is this an item that is sold ready-made, or can you just take a particular kind of shaker and attach it to your foot with a strap of some kind?

Over the years I've seen quite a few musicians do this. Some have velcro on the shaker
and velcro on a special shoe. Others use tape. Some use a small maraca type shaker
and jam the handle end in between their loosened shoelaces. Anyway you can get it to stay
there works. You can jam a drumstick in your shoelaces and have it stick out in front of your
foot to hit a cowbell or woodblock that is on the floor. Sometimes it is best to velcro those
things to a small piece of carpet to keep them from scooting around. Hope this helps.
(I haven't seen the video you mentioned).

You can actually purchase a foot shaker type product from guitar center.

I personally don't own it, but I hope it works if you decide to purchase it. I've heard thier good quality. You can put it next to you Hi Hat.

IMO, this isn't the same type of sound as a shaker. A cabasa has a tighter, controlled and more specific sound. This is a foot operated version of a regular cabasa. I've also heard it's a little tricky to get the action right on this.

OP: I'd experiment with different shakers and see what can get you the sound and feel most effectively while strapped to your leg. You also need to factor in the volume level of the band. This might be impractical to mike.
