Your post is very open. There are many combinations of bass drum heads.
A good all around head setup is a Remo PS3 as batter and also as a resonant head. You could also use a Remo Smooth White Ambassador out front. Some folks add a pillow inside and some use a porthole.
Evans makes some great heads too. The Emad and EQ3 heads are popular.
Aquarian makes the SuperKick I and II which is also highly rated.
Tuning is also important..

What kind of bass drum sound are you after?

+1 for PS3 and EMAD.

I have SuperKick IIs on both a 20 and a 22. Both batter. My reso heads are Regulator's. I really like them.

Two-ply batter, one ply reso out front. PS3 or SKII batter and smooth white Ambassador or black EQ3 on the front with a little bit of acoustic foam inside for muffling a bit.
