Building your own Electronic drums.

Just curious if anyone has done this yet. About 2 years ago I picked up an "Ion drum rocker" to use with Rock Band/Guitar Hero. Ended up quitting, and haven't touched the kit since.

Lately I've been getting the idea of adding onto it and replacing a lot on it. Which eventually lead me to wondering if anyone has ever built their own set of electric drums out of spare parts and what not. I know someone out there has had to have done it lol. I've just yet to see it.

I built my own electric drum by gluing a piezo sensor to a mesh drum head. I wrote up a bit about it here

Mine isn't made from "spare parts" but is still technically a DIY, A2E kit.
