The new alloy ones are way over priced and those tall brackets use regular floor tom leg holders making them bulky and unattractive IMO.

Worldmax makes one that looks similar to the old chrome RIMS type mounts that is very clean looking, the leg holders are down on the hoop allowing for more height adjustment and stability plus they sell for $50 to $60 depending on the size. BTW in case you happen to place an order drum factory direct has free shipping on orders over $99.

Hey there's my old Starclassic bubinga in my patio room!

Here's the trick with those excess rims for the floor toms though: you will need a case one size bigger if you case them up. So, if you put one on your 14", you'll need a case for a 16" to accommodate. After living with the mount for a while, I eventually just drilled the drum for brackets and put those big Pearl rubber feet on the legs - it rang just as much.

I put one on my 16 and it fit in the same case but my 16 already had a RIMS suspension mount on it before and the case must have been made for suspension mounted toms.

Never had a problem putting my 14" Gretsch in it's Enduro w/ foam hard case or Beato Bag; although I did replace the hand knobs with drum key short rods.
How do the WorldMax leg brackets attach to the band ? It looks like they're just resting there.
Are they clamped or screwed in ?

They hook over the top and the bottom of the hoop and once you decide where you want them you tighten the big wing nut to lock them in place, the wing nuts hold it solid but I replaced the wing nuts with nylon locking nuts just to make it even cleaner looking.
