Default Radio Microphones - altering the frequencies

Does anybody have any knowledge of radio microphones. This issue is completely seperate from my drumming and is more to do with my work. I run a community music session for adults with learning disabilities.

The problem
[list][*]We have 2 sets of radio microphones but both are broken

One set has microphones that dont work, the other set has a receiver that doesn't work.

I thought I could just use the microphones from one set with the receiver from the other set. BUT they are at different frequecies.

Is there any way of altering the frequencies??

Depends. Many cheap wireless systems are not tunable. More expensive ones are, but the transmitter and receiver have to be the same brand and model.

What have you got to work with?

Thanks for your reply. I have the microphones from the KAM kwm11 set and I have the receiver from a Prosound L59Aw vhf wireless mic kit (1 of the mic's actually work's with this - so i'm only one mic short)

To be honest, i think the KAM ones were fairly cheap. Maybe the prosound one's were as well.

They may be set.

With radio mics you have to be very careful. Without a proper licence, you might be impeding on broadcasting spectrum and that could land you a hefty fine. I remember when I did some work in a theatre the sound technician in charge being very careful not to alter the frequencies of the mics that we were using.
