Default Unusual hihat stand advice needed

Greetings all - this is maybe an unusual request. I have developed MS (Multiple Sclerosis) over the last few years and although my neurologist describes the condition as 'probable' and 'atypical' it is badly affecting my drumming. In particular, it is diffucult for me to bend my left foot up (or to lift my left leg), but no problem bending it down. As you can imagine this makes using the hihat rather 'interesting'.

My question is: does anybody know of a hihat stand that has an especially strong and adjustable spring - way beyond what the average drummer would set it to - and yet still very responsive? The cymbals themselves are perhaps a little heavier than average, being 14 inch Ufip Class (Medium)

TIA for any suggestionsd
Spyder.

Hi, thanks for the response. A thought has occurred to me that what I really need is a pedal that I can play with my heel rather than the front of my foot... thinking about it, it might be a relatively simple engineering task to take the foot pedal off the hihat and replace it with a bowden cable running to a modified bass pedal.
It would be a weird-feeling way to play the hihat, but I'm sure I'd get the hang of it after a while.
Cheers

I was just thinking the same thing about a heel activated pedal. For the life of me I swear I saw one on here or somewhere one time but can't remember where it was.

Perhaps if I come up with an elegant solution, there might be a niche market for them :-)

or maybe a remote hihat could help you?

or you could try a rather small hihat pedal, and play it kind of sideways.

Would part of the solution be to place a brick at the base of the pedal to rest you heel on, to elevate the heel for a flat-to-down motion with the foot?
