Default Give your opinions about Hi Hat mounted Jingle Rings

I am looking to buy a Jingle Ring to mount on my Hi Hat.....I guess the ones that are most on my radar are the Pearl, the Meinl, and the Latin Percussion versions. Will need to buy online and don't have a local store that carries any of them.

Wonder if you've found any that are more durable or functional for the purpose they serve.

Thanks.

I'm really liking the looks of the Pearl but it is pretty expensive at $40.

I've had a RhythmTech HatTrick for years. Never use it, but it's very good. There appears to be a new one (I would had probably got this one if it had been available back then since it's smaller).

I rarely take the Rhythm Tech of my hi hat stand. I think it sounds great, low profile, and has been durable.

I have one of the older rhythm tech brass ones. I actually pulled off half the jingles because it was a bit overkill. I'd go for one of the newer quick release ones with single row of jingles like this one:

Fox.
I have used a Hat Trick since 1995 or so and I like them. However, the Pearl seems to be better because you can hit the top of it and not damage it. Good thinking.

I like them, but I had a lot of cheaply built ones and they broke real quick. I have a Meinl one now and it is built to last. Sounds good too.

I use this one, the smaller version of the RT Hat Trick.

I took off 4 of the eight sets of jingles on one side. This way I can turn the jingles away from or toward the mic.

I do like the idea of it.....but it gets more expensive when you figure in buying another hi-hat clutch.

Some of these seem to be mostly metal. Wouldn't you want one with a rubber part you can hit with your stick?

I don't. If I want to have a jingle hit sound I just mount a cyclops mountable tambourine on the stand. These ching rings are made for hi hat chick usage.

Although some of them have rubber top for a stick hit, you won't get that real full and rich sound of a hand tambourine, especially not trough louder music.

I agree! I would definitively get the Rhythm Tech. I have to admit that I don't use mine much, but that is only because I don't want to. I have owned a couple different brands, but the RT is the best if you ask me!

Have fun!

Funny, I stopped using a drop clutch to add a ching ring.

I have the LP. It mounts on the hi-hat or an L-rod. Love it.

Fox.
Yeah I had one of those. I also have a RhythmnTech Glow -in- the-dark tambourine as well.

RT makes good stuff at VERY reasonable prices. Great rhythmn eggs too....

I feel these jingles are better and less obtrusive than a standard tambourine.

I have thought about getting another. Pearls does seem nice, but RHYTECH is always trusted. I have never used Pearl Percussion products, but I feel you might be paying for the name.

I have a hat trick on my high hat stand above my drop clutch and also have a rhythm tech tambourine with the sticking edge mounted on an L rod beside my hats.
