Default Anyone used the Evans G14 heads yet?

I'm thinking of using them on Yamaha MCA toms. I would love to hear anyone's thoughts about these heads.

It is SLOWLY trickling into some stores (musician's friend has shown nothing on it). And if I ran the zoo, sound samples would already be out on the evans site (not to nit pick but there are clearly some heads out of order on their dark to bright chart)... the day it hit NAMM.

Sorry Birdman, lots going on around here. Sound samples soon to come (but as always, the best comparison is the one you make with your own ears in person). Cheers!

There's a total of maybe 5 total seconds of tom hits in that entire video. Not a good video at all to evaluate heads. The music, snare, and cymbals make it impossible to hear anything.

Don't waste your time watching if you want to hear these heads on toms without music.

I completely disagree Larry! This is a very useful evaluation video if you're going to play drum covers, exclusively in a studio, with close mic's, heads tuned JAW, full audio processing, & on an acrylic kit. Pthhh, some people are just too fussy ;)

My apologies, I figured I'd offer that video up since it was available. It's certainly not intended to be the definitive G14 demo video, but it's something to check out in the meantime. If nothing else, some good drumming to check out. Cheers!

Not yet. After watching that Pat Patrillo's demo, I really wanted to though.
