Default Double Trigger/Sensitivity Issues with Alesis DM5/Ddrum Pro triggers

My alesis DM5 module is kind of confusing to use, and I always seem to pick up 4 or 5 hits on my tom drums. I don't know what to turn down. Options include crosstalk, gain, vcurve, noise, decay. I barely know what any of them mean. Also, how tightly should my triggers be screwed on?
Also, is it possible to drum roll with triggers? I can't seem to do it, as it comes out as a jumbled mess. Maybe it has to do with my trigger tightness on the head, and the fact that my snare head is tight as possible.

Default Re: Double Trigger/Sensitivity Issues with Alesis DM5/Ddrum Pro triggers

Back in my electronis days, I had multiple-trigger problems often with Simmons triggers.
The problem was the connectors...........usually the female portion.

After giving up, I sold them and invested in the top line Yamaha system.

Problem solved.

After 20 years they still perform perfectly.
