Default Happy Fathers Day to ME. NEW KIT TODAY

Well,

My mother in law bought me a gift card to GC for Fathers Day. I just spent about 100 yesterday. I am going to be selling about 400 bucks worth of extra drum stuff on eBay.

Anyway, they had the laquered Zep set in at GC for the first time in about a year. I asked my salesperson how much he would sell me the shell pack for. After doing some math, he sold it to me for $700 out the door.

He through in Evans EC2 heads on the 3 toms, a G1 on the snare and gave me a bass drum pillow to boot.

Needless to say, it is pretty nice. I know it isn't the highest quality kit, but now I have a Peart / Portnoy monster and a basic BONHAM!!

Here is a picture of one of the zep set kits. This in not mine, but mine looks identical to it.

Hope all the fathers out there had a great day like me!

Mike

Right now, I will be using my Paragons with it. They are on my other kit, I will need to share them.

However, over the course of this year, I will hopefully get Paiste 15 sound edge 2002s, 24 2002, 18 2002 and 20 2002.

The kit sounds better than I thought it would. It is tuned really low with the EC2s and it sounds like an earthquake every time I hit them. The bass drum just booms and has a lot of resonance.

I a couple of weeks, I am going to tear down my monster set and play with these. I played the Ludwigs today in my living room for a while and was in amazement. Nothing quite like a 26 kick!

Looks real nice. I think there is definitely an advantage to having a monster set, and a simple set. Best of both worlds.

Is that the Ludwig Classic Maple, or the Accent?
Either way, you got a sick deal.. especially with brand new heads.

Damnit, my Bonham Kit cravings just kicked in again. Now I have to go get a G.A.S. patch

It is the accent.

Unfortunately I didn't find that deal on the classic maples.

Thanks for the responses!!!!
