Default Pearl Demon Drive ... overkill?

Okay, maybe I'm just not 'in the know' ... but doesn't this seem a bit ridiculous?

LOL, I just thought it looked like a cyber-leg. I can imagine a future where the truly dedicated drummers have their legs replaced with kick pedals.

The DW9000 is ridiculous overkill. Everything that moves has a rotor on both ends.
You can't adjust the spring tension without getting on your hands and knees and then you need both hands. The knob is on the inside of the post.

It is buttery smooth though, I must admit.

I tried both the Trick and the DW9000 pedals and yes, they are both buttery smooth. Years I tried the first future pedal, the Axis A and also liked that pedal too. Stupid design on the DW for having that spring on the inside of the post.

Something in my head kept telling me, though, that if you can't say it on an old Camco pedal or a Speed King, then there's something wrong with you ;)

The Pearl pedal has this bump up where that round piece is on the footboard, that felt weird. I've yet to have a bride come up to me and say, "I wish you played faster notes on your bass drum", however.
