Default Can't decide on which kit...

Alright I have seen numerous post about people looking for their first edrums.

I have been drumming for around 12 years off and on. I don't not have a acoustic kit at the moment but looking into getting an electric drum set. I have around $1200 USD to spend on a solid kit which includes headphones and a double pedal. The two kits I am having a hard time picking from are the Yahama DTX500k which I heard was a hell of an upgrade from the dtexplorer. Or the Alesis DM10 studio which seems to be pretty amazing. I need the perfect setup for double bass and blast beats as I play mostly death metal and thrash. Or maybe even a roland tdk4?

Roland and yamaha both make fine kits. I don't know very much about Alesis but I've heard they aren't very durable. I have a Roland TD4KX and it has held up well. The kits them selves don't come with a pedal, throne or head phones, but kraftmusic.com offers packages. And if you call you can switch out the single pedal for a double pedal on the package.

As far as the whole Roland vs Yamaha, they both have they're pro's and cons.

Rather than type it all up just read through this thread, it ended up becoming a discousion about it:
