Default PDP DP402 Double Pedal Beaters?

im looking into getting my first double pedal, and this seemed like the best cheapest buy.....i don't really like the sound of the plastic beaters, so i was wondering if this pedal
http://www.guitarcenter.com/PDP-DP40...34-i1135452.gc
comes with a felt side?
the specs say that it is a two way beater, but the pic of the beaters makes it hard to see if it's felt...(there isn't any white on it)

thanks
micah

Doesn't look like it. If not just replace the beaters.

No, it doesnt have any felt. Its either rubber or plastic. You would have to buy aftermarket felt beaters, or maybe the shop you buy the pedal from will swap out the beaters for you. Thos Gibraltar beaters are ok, but they are really lopsided in weight. I had those beaters on an old pedal that I bought back about 10 years ago, and I actually cut the rounded plastic off of the back to even out the weight of them. Youd be better off going with an all felt round or conical beater. Depending on what type of sound you wanted, that is...Personally, Id save up a lil bit more cashola and spring for the Pearl quad beater...4 different beaters, 2 felt, 2 plasic. Then you can dial in the sound youre looking for a little better....just an opinion...

I dont see why they shouldnt fit. I believe the beater shafts are universal fit. I know the Pearl quad beaters I bought fit nicely in my Gibraltar double pedal without having to crank on the bolts to tighten down the shaft.

If worse comes to worse, head to a shop, find the pedal you want, and if those are the beaters you want, see if the tech in the shop will let you fit the beater into the pedal to make sure they fit.
