Pro-Mark was going through some quality control pains as of late. I changed from Pro-Mark to Vic Firth myself recently because the first three pairs of Pro-Marks I grabbed off the rack at my local store weren't straight.

Evans recently bought Pro-Mark, so I have high hopes. There is a company rep (with the appropriate handle of EvansSpecialist) here on the forum, you might ask him.

In the past, anytime I had an abnormal breakage of sticks, I took them back to the shop where I bought them and either got a refund, store credit, or exchanged them for another set of sticks.

Joey's blood is so wicked that the small amount in the dye they use breaks down the wood in the stick and makes it more susceptible to breakage.

Okay, that's not really true. :) I would contact the EvansPrez as recommended above. There's a thread already started by him and he's been fantastic about engaging with the customers here and sorting out any problems they've reported.

I have not tried those looks like they have a big tip, I have a bunch of Pro Mark sticks including Neil Pert sig and have not had any problems but they're older. If you like a heavy stick try the Vic Firth Danny Carey.

Just sent you a PM. Sorry to hear about your experience with our drumsticks. I'd be happy to replace them for you.

BTW, anyone can feel free to PM we at anytime to get in touch about Pro-Mark/Evans/PureSound products (QC issues, questions/suggestions, or maybe even a compliment ;-)

I really like the Shira Kashi Oak you use, nice stick definition.

I dont know if it was only the Jordison model, but I bought 2 pairs of 747 Hickories last week, and theyre both broken already....One pair within the first 15 mins of taking them out of the sleeve, the other pair during a show when I hit a rim shot. I really hope that Evans can turn the QC around on these. I am a faithful supporter of Promark, but Vaters are starting to look better with every premature splintered stick I throw away.

I have used two different pair of ProMark in my time. The first pair was free, and worth every penny. Broken in no time. The second pair, or pairs, are Ringo signature. Although a huge Ringo fan I bought them because I wanted a longer stick. They tend to be OK but Have changed my preference to Vic Firth and Regal tip for plastics.

I got 3 more pairs of 747s on Wednesday. Didnt roll them in the store, as I was in a rush due to having errands that needed to be run before 5pm. Anyways, I got home, rolled them on my kitchen table, and I now have 2 out of 3 pairs of sticks that are warped and useless. Not really sure where to go from here. Spent about 25 bucks for sticks, and I cant even use 2 pairs of them.

@Blastbeatkeeper-

You can always return them to the store and they should give you two new pairs or a refund. If they give you a hard time, I'll replace the sticks myself.

Also, as an FYI, D'Addario (our parent company) bought Pro-Mark. I work on all of the percussion brands (Evans/Puresound/Pro-Mark). As I mentioned, we're making some huge manufacturing improvements that will help to prevent stick warpage and other quality issues. Thanks for your patience as we go through this transition.

Its all seems so random because in my experience Pro-Mark is the only brand that doesnt brake.
I need to to buy new ones because my 5b's turn into 5a's after a few weeks and I miss the weight.
Never had that with Vic-Firth because they split within a week.

@Beatfreak83

Thanks for the support! Just as you said, if anyone ever has an issue, I'll be glad to help out in any way that I can. Our quality has gotten a lot better on the ProMark side of things and we've got some major stuff in the works as well. More details here: http://promark.com/pmNewsDetail.Page...D=3895&id=1173

Cheers!
