Default Changing snare wires

I see lots of posts on snare wires but have not seen any on the actual act of changing them.
For some reason I seem to striggle with this a bit. I am using Puresound and I went to their website and watched the video.

It says to loosen the strainer about 10 turns and have the snares in the off position. OK
I do this and I always seem to not have the wires / cables tight enough. What seems to work best for me is having the snare in the ON position, still having the strainer turned about 10 turns.

I have the snare sounding good but I was wondering what tips you may be abole to share, or what works for you.

Default Re: Changing snare wires

Yea, when I install new snares, I have the strainer in the on position, and loosen it as much as I can. That way, you know that in the off position, your snares will truly be off.. while you also have lots of room to tighten you snares to your liking.
