Loved it! I've seen similar starling activity on that scale at my house, but there's something about being over water that makes it even more dramatic. Being in that canoe must have been a buzz. So exposed & involved, wow.

For the record that was something posted to my Google+ account from an unknown. I wish I could say it was mine. I have seen the sky blackened with birds before but not doing that ballet.

That was pretty cool! We had a load of those Starlings where I live but people moaned and groaned so someone shot something to scare them away :-( They weren't hurting anybody...just deposited a bit of poo on cars...*sigh*
