Late 1960's Slingerland Sound King chrome over brass. This is one of my favorite snare drums.

Lovely Ludwig Supersensitive from 1966. Incredible sounding drum. It is very well preserved with little pitting. The mechanism can be tricky but is worth it.

Another look at the mechanism. Nice to also have the period bag. Although it offers little protection and fits into another bag and then a case for transportation.

Love the Gretsch. Looks like my Gretsch Brooklyn hammered COB I bought a month ago. Sounds awesome I'm sure.

Tama Imperialstar14x6 1/2 steel snare from 1982. These drums were not top of the line if I recall... However they do compare well with modern Tama snares. Quite heavy but incredibly powerful. Fantastic rock drum.

Some lovely additions to your collection there. Although glitzy, I love the Sonor Artist. Are those lug locks I see?

The nylon washes look a little like lug locks. Sonor have internal locks. High end Sonors don't detune.

These are not new editions. i have owned the brass above for years. My problem is everything is in storage and it is difficult to access many drums. It is a big storage area.

Ah, ok then, a new addition to me :) Either way, some beautiful instruments.

Cheers mate. Loads of this gear was on the old thread but some is new. The Tama BB on the previous page i bought last year. Same story with the Carl Palmer snare. Which is a great little drum.

I am trying to upload more pics from my phone but am having little luck.

Here is a better pic of the aforementioned Japanese made 13x6" Tama BB. This drum was part of a batch made at Mike Portnoy's request..apparently. It is a very nice drum with a sound that belies its size. The hoops and the rest of the hardware is up to Tama's usual very high standard.

Tama JB 13x6 1/2 steel snare. This is imo a very underated drum. It can be exceptionally loud, but is also versy sensitive.

Another shot of Carl Palmer's signature Ludwig brass snare. A great drum that I bought because I couldn't finf a Yamaha David Garibaldi, and I did not want to take my 1920's Ludwig and Ludwig out on those shows.

I've really been getting into maple hoops. Some drums come alive with them. Of course not all drums love them. But how cool do they look? :-)
