Default This might sound dumb but......

What are the best rivets to use on a crash cymbal? I have rivets that I picked up at home depot, and when I ride my 20" A custom crash, they are EXTREMELY subtle and when I crash it, they fall out. I am looking for rivets that are larger so that you can hear them in a live setting, and a longer bottom so that they will not fall out. Any help will be appreciated.

You need to get split rivets and spread them apart once in the hole.

Thanks for the info, where can I get split rivets though? Are they like the zildjian rivets on the website? I have asked at home depot and they did not have them.

Zildjian sells rivets in a package of 100. That is a lot of rivets but they are not terribly expensive. You can buy them at zildjian.com or memphisdrumshop.com

Let me guess - the Zildjian rivets are made of the top secret Zildjian alloy? I wonder if they make A, K, and Z rivets depending on your application? I recall the hip new rivet sound from the '70s when they released the highly-anticipated Earth Rivets, extremely heavy and green.....How about a mix? Use the K/Z combination of rivets! Rivets that created an air lock were replaced with the Quick Beat Rivets, they had little air holes in them. Oh, I crack myself up ;)

It feels like you have a hidden agenda with all this great info! Do you get a sales percentage?
