Default Axis A "shortboard" or Yamaha DFP9500D

Well g'day!

I really need a new pair of doublepedals and im choosing between a pair of used Axis A Shortboards or brand new Yamaha DFP9500D .
I'm really new to the direct drive feel and would like your opinion on this!

(in australia at least) the yamaha is cheaper.... and the customer service for axis in australia is completely crap. so i'd go the yamaha. they feel extremely light and effortless. the only real difference i can distinguish between axis/yammy is that the axis has a bit of a bigger foot board, and has a steeper footboard angle.

You really need to let your feet decide.

For me I've tried the Axis and they were o.k. just didn't find them to my liking, ordered a yamaha 9415 direct drive last year for church and fell in love with it, just got another one for my new kit at home. So my vote goes to the Yamaha.

Have you looked around the web for one of the older models like the 9415 or 9410? Good way to save some $$. The single I just purchased I found for $125 new in box. Just something to consider as I know there is new "old" stock out there.

I've played/tried the Axis pedal "every" chance I get ... and it just doesn't "do it" for me.
On the other hand (or foot), I own two Yamaha FDDD single pedals ....and when I go with a double pedal, I play a Sleishman (because I want a center pedal, also).
And I agree with everything KB says, you need to get your feet on both pedals ... and go from there.
