Default Roland TD-4K2 or Yamaha DTX520K

I want to buy an electric drum kit and I'm between this two, which one do you prefer and why?

Default Re: Roland TD-4K2 or Yamaha DTX520K

Yamaha makes a great drum, especially for the price, but I would go with Roland hands down for many reasons. The sounds in Rolands sound a bit more natural. Eventhough Yamaha claims to get their sounds from live instruments, they always come out sounding a bit "boxy" or "digital" and sound way to compressed. The pads on Rolands also feel so much more smooth and responsive, and the feel of their rubber pads are so much softer and forgiving.

On a technical note, Rolands seem to be able to take A LOT more abuse, have minimal problems with triggers/pads going out, have less bugs (a factory reset usually cures all existing problems they may develop) and their customer service/loyalty is leaps-and-bounds over Yamaha. From a music retail perspective (like mine), that says a lot.
