Nice Grunter. Although I note the snare in the pic has the Full Range badge, I'm guessing they just attached the wrong pic.....or is it possible you've scored the Full Range snare at Renown prices?

Great drums either way....enjoy!!

You are right I am actually thinking the Renown is an 8 lug snare also but I was looking for a small snare since my others are all 7 inchers. Will post photos.

I figure one for every day of the week, or is it one for every day of the month???

Other than my Picollo all of my snares are deep, so this will fill the void.

Thanks to Greenbrier Percussion in Virginia for getting this drum to me so quickly.
Gretsch Renown Maple in Satin Black. 5 x 14, 10mm 10 ply, with diecast hoops. Came with a G1 coated batter, but I switched it out for an Evans G Plus batter.
This thing sounds fine to me. Enjoy.

Nice find. I have the same snare & a recording engineer recently told me that it was the best sounding snare he'd ever recorded. It took a bit for me to dial it in, but it's very solid once you find it. That was with the stock Evans heads & snare strand....
