Mapex MPX o PDP Blackout??? ..please

Hello my drumerworld friends.. I am really on a budget and need thoughts about these two snare drums:

1) Mapex MPX, 14 x 5.5. Ten lugs. Maple.

2) PDP Blackout, 14 x 6. Eight lugs. Maple.

I ve read about them but, please, if someone has played any of them, opinions and reviews are welcome.

Thats close, you would have a wider tuning range with the Mapex because of 10 lugs but I have not heard that one in person, I have heard the PDP blackout and they sound great.

Hi Zarrdoss.. I had already seen these videos but you know its different to play them in person... I like what you say about PDP snare, really sound nice.. but is true Mapex has a wider tuning range (10 lugs vs. 8 lugs).. so is difficult to take a decision ( and I am not able to play them in the store)... thanks my friend

Your welcome, unless you can go hear them both in person somewhere and make a decision based on your preference you might as well flip a coin to decide, I don't think you could go wrong with either. I think they are of about the same build and quality, but for me personally I would go for the Mapex because of 10 lugs.

Yes.. 10 lugs make the difference, I think.. or maybe I will flip a coin, hahaha.. thanks!!!
