Default Heads for Sonor Delite

Hi All

I have had the good fortune of acquiring a Sonor Delite kit in the last week. I love it!

I am looking to make it sounds the best it can and just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on combinations of heads for it. I plan to try some G2 over G1. The fella who sold it to me has some coated emperors over factory sonor bottom. Sounds good but I know it could probably be made to sound better with some other combinations.

Same with the snare, would like to get it sounding fantastic. It sounds great as it is so far. Currently it has a Coated Controlled sounds over factory bottom. I have an Evans Hazy 300 to throw on the bottom, might see what the Coated Controlled sounds does with that. Any ideas on this is much appreciated.

This kit is kick-arse. I love it. Have only had limited time to tune and play this week and with the little bit of time put into it sounds excellent so far.

Thanks in advance.

the G2 over G1 combination is a solid and quite popular one. Plenty of attach, durability but still the option of some deep resonance/sustain. As far as the snare goes, if you like having the center reinforcement, check out the Evans Power Center Reverse Dot. The 300 snare side head will work fine.

Congrats on the new kit and best of luck tuning it up. Let me know if you have any questions!

Ok for starters I don't know why people come blasting out of the gates recommending drum heads when they have no idea as to the destination of sound that is being sought out.
With that aside, what sound are you looking for? warm, bright, attack, sustain,?
Warm and attack = coatedambassador/coatedg1
bright and attack= clearambassador/g1clear
and so on....
Personally, on a kit like that I would not go thicker than single ply. Just wouldn't. Its up to you at the end of the day. The music you play and your overall budget.
Congratulations! you have a fantastic drum kit, enjoy it.
