Default Encephale

Friggin' hey guys! I'm a long time lurker/first time poster. I live in Ohio, which is as fun as it sounds. I play a Tama Silverstar all birch/hybrid kit. I've played since I was 4 on and off, stopping only because I grew out of my Tonka kit. A few years ago, I got to pick up my current set and I've been playing nonstop ever since. Some time and some noise violation warnings later, I'm playing with a couple high school buddies of mine in a prog rock garage band. We aim high, at least.

Here's the lowdown on my gear:

All DW/Tama hardware.
All drums except the 16x18" floor tom and 14x5 snare are Tama Silverstar birch drums with a Chameleon finish. The floor tom and snare are nondescript Astral drums my guitar player is letting me use off of his kit (that have surprisingly great tone and a black finish). I didn't have the snare when I took these, but I'll take one the next time I'm using it.

Here's my kit:

Yes, I know some heads aren't lined up, and it aggravates my OCD too. Oops!

10x10" rack tom
12x12" rack tom
14x4.5" snare
14x5" snare
16x16" floor tom
16x18" floor tom
22x20 kick drum

Cymbals from left to right:
15" Zildjian A Custom Mastersound hi-hat
18" Paiste 2002 Wild Crash
20" Paiste 2002 Wild Crash
18" Thin Mystery Ride
13" Sabian B8 hi-hat (stacker substitute)

And there you have it. My name's Quinn, and I look forward to spending some time on this forum.

Default Re: Encephale

Welcome! I'm Tony. A self-proclaimed "Tutt-nut" (fan of Ronnie Tutt, Elvis Presley's former drummer and Neil Diamond's current drummer).

The only drums I have are the ones on my Yamaha DGX-640 digital piano.
