Default Ludwig throne is like a board.

Just got the Ludwig LM450TH saddle-style throne and I'm ready to throw it out! This thing is hard and has, maybe, a 1/2 inch of padding. It's absolutely terrible! I'll never trust Ludwig again because they put their name on this rock.
I'm no fan of round thrones but I'm ready to start using my old round throne after just two days of this piece of Ludwig trash. I've had saddle-style thrones before and I know this isn't the way a good throne should feel.
Just had to let off steam.

How did it seem when you sat on it before you bought it?

Didn't get to try it. Bought it on eBay. May sell it there too.

That's why it's best to try stuff like this out in a shop.

I use Ludwig drums (for 35yrs, no issues at all-fantastic sounding/performing stuff), but I don't find any of their thrones very comfortable at all.
Not too keen on their hardware lines at all actually, even though it works and does the job.

Roc-n-Soc Mac Saddle, Tama Ergo Rider and Pearl Roadster have been very reliable and comfortable for me over the years.

Good luck!
