Default Apple Mac Mini for Recording

Hi all, I did a search but came up dry. My question is, is a 2.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Mini sufficient to record 8-9 drums using 8-9 input mics ran through a USB mixer? I recently bought one and was hoping it could also be a decent recording computer. I plan to run Garageband or possibly Logic eventually. If anyone has any input on this, it will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

You can get by with that as long as you're running 4GB RAM and you are not running anything other than your DAW. You'd be better off with a Firewire mixer with a 2-core 2GHz processor.

you'll get away with it, but when you start adding plugins you'll probably find that it'll be unplayable

I have an older (late 2006) Core Duo 2 iMac, 2GB of RAM with a USB interface. I run Logic Pro 8 with a Line 6 TonePort UX8 interface and I've never had much problem with multitracking. Running plugins for editing can be an issue, but tracking isn't an issue. My MacBook Pro (2009) has no issues at all.
