Default Alesis trigger i/o cymbal choking issue

Hey everyone

I have the Alesis studio kit with the trigger i/o and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it.Contacting Alesis customer support has been a nightmare. They simply dont write back.Very poor.

The kit has two "chokeable" cymbals.Yet I cant get them to choke. When I go to grab the sensor where it chokes,it does nothing for a few seconds, then gives a whiny screech.

The kit is pretty cool otherwise.Things a blast.I like to play heavier music,so killing that cymbal so it doesnt bleed through is mandatory from time to time.Any help would be appreciated.
