Default Iron Cobra Jr vs Iron Cobra Pedal

Simply put...

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/drums...83128000000000

vs

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/drums...84408000000000

Whats the main difference?

I have a Brand New Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal Sealed in a box that Im tempted to Sell, but if it is a good pedal, I'll keep it.

While were at it, I am using a Pearl Eliminator right now, How would the Tama Iron Cobra Jr. compare?

I heard the footboard is very light on the Jr, some people say that is very good (better control, speed ect.).

I've played the Iron Cobra Jr. for the last two years and absolutely loved it. Simple and straight-forward - a great workhorse pedal. It was smooth and easy to adjust, and it came the closest to reminding me of the DW5000 (which I just recently went back to). I figure if any pedal can feel like the DW, I'm good. Then again, this would be most pedals on the market, except for the venerable Speed King, of course!

i actually like the jr. my friend has one. was actually amazed at how it felt. felt better than the 9000's im borrowing - but thats probably because of the adjustments. havn't found what 9000 adjustments feel best to me.

personally i hate eliminators... can't play them at all.

It's really up to you ... to try out both pedals, and decide which one feels better. Everyone is different.
That said, the Jr. gets my vote ... like Bo mentioned, the Jr. feels a lot like the DW 5000, and I played those for years (single and double).
What I play now, however, is Yamaha direct drives ... when I go single ... and when I need a double pedal, I break out my Sleishmans .... like I said ... we're all different.

I am kinda getting feed up with my Eliminator. It always feels "Heavy" and "sluggish".

Would the Iron Cobra Jr be better? Is the footplate lighter? Would that translate into fast, more controlled playing?

Sorry you didnt get feedback.

I have Iron Cobras, but not JR's. I have never played the Elims but I hear good and bad.
They seem like pretty good pedals to me but if they feel too heavy for you, I wouldnt suggest the Iron Cobra (regular) either.

Maybe you need something like a Trick or Axis. I know, expensive, but theyre light and fast.

Iron Cobras were a bit heavy, now that I have gone Speed Cobras I can never go back. My suggestion is try it out and see what you think. I did play the Iron cobra JR when I was trying to find a decent double pedal for my e-drums but went with the Pearl 902 instead, just a little bit easier for me to play, next will be a double Speed Cobra.
Go to GC or a music store and try a bunch out and see what works for you.

I have an Iron Cobra on my main kit, and an Iron Cobra Jr. on my second kit. I really don't feel a lot of difference between the two, so if you like the general feel of an Iron Cobra I think they'll be just as happy with the Jr. and save a few bucks.
