Default SPDS problems

Hey folks, i just bought an spds (the previous model, not the spds that is out now. i the one with 6 regular pads, 3 rim pads and the little green rectangle screen). i have 2 problems that i cant seem to find answers to online, and guitar center employees dont know how.

1) it says i can record sounds via microphone, which i have accomplished, but i quickly noticed not alot can fit on the current memory thats in the unit. so when i tried to delete the silly noises i made into the mic just to test it, it said they where protected ! i did not protect them. how do i delete these trouble some sfx?

2) and also, i wanted to use a roland fd hihat switch from a td9k to trigger open and closed hats on the same pad. is this possible?

As far as number 1 is concerned, just power on the unit while holding down the WAVE and SETUP buttons at the same time. That will disable Wave Protect mode. Then you can delete waves.

Number 2 I don't know about, sorry.

Good luck!
