Default Fascinating African drum research

Deep in the heart of Africa, some explorers were staying in a village. It was relentless, hot, steamy weather. From all the hills around, the sound of drumming echoed all day long for day after day, night after night. Polyrhythm layed upon polyrhythm upon polyrhythm. Suddenly, after 10 days, the drumming stopped. All was quiet. The explorers walked out into the village centre feeling blissful release, but were amazed to find the locals looking downcast and fearful.

"Why so glum?" The explorers asked?
"Now the f*cking bass solo starts".

I was figuring there was a spot of neighbour trouble.
