Default multi rod sticks?

you know those wierd lookng multi rodded sticks that look like they are made of balsa, does anyone here have any comments about those and has anyone used them before, what are the benefits and disadvantages of them?

The Pro-Mark rods (Thunder Rods, Hot Rods, Cool Rods, etc.) are great. They're definitely for lower volume playing (and less powerful rim shots!) but they do a nice job of cutting through. They can really bring a cool new character to your playing when used tastefully.
