Default Dampening Methods

So my band's heading into the studio this Saturday (first time, i'm pretty young), and i'm taking my newly-acquired Acro :D anyway, the internal dampener's broken, and i was wondering what dampening method would be my best option for in the studio. I was originally thinking an E-ring, but would Moongel be better in this situation?
Thanks!

yeah, i've never needed to use dampening though, it's only with the new Acro.
haven't bought any dampening for it yet, i'll be buying it in the next few days.

Acros are pretty dry sounding drums. If it's in tune, you probably won't need any dampening. Just use a bit of tape if you have to.

Sounds like you got your 3 biggest options covered, either rings, moongels, or tape. It all depends on what kind of sound you want and everyone has a different preferred method of dampening. If there is an engineer at your studio let him figure it out because he will most likely know how to make a good snare sound, and probably has his own way of tuning and recording drums. If there's no engineer just do a little trial and error, it's pretty cheap to get any of those 3 things.
