Default "Ayotte" head I really liked.

A little while ago I played with a jazz band my council had organised. They had an Ayotte Velvet kit with coated emperor Ayotte heads. They sounded amazing! And the rebound from the head was jaw-dropping. The kit was also amazing, but I really want to know would the head be closer to Evans or Remo?

The floor tom was a Remo Emperor with some brand new moongel on it. Sounded amazing!

If the heads said "Emperor" on it, then they're Remo. Ayotte is not, nor was ever, in the head business. Probably stock heads, mfg'd with the Ayotte logo, just like Tama's stock heads are made by Evans, etc.
