Default Urgent Question, Refurbing my Drums

Yeah, I have recently starting refurbishing my drums, I mean the whole Nine Yards, I have just purchase 2 Evans EC2 SST's one 13, and one 12. Now, I have stock ludwig heads on the back part of my toms, and the new one's on the front.I need to know if I should replace the back as well.

This would be GREAT if you could help.

One more question, along a Metal sound, what would be a good snare head to try. I also Have ludwig stock of those.

Thanks,
Josh

If you listen to all the metal band, all snare are going to sound different. The snare is your own signature sound. Make it your own. Tell us what kind of snare sound you want to go for and the others and I will recommend one to you...

My suggestions would be:
Open: Evans G1/2
Controlled: EC Reverse Dot
Nearly Dry: Genera HD
Dry: Evans HD Dry

I would say for metal, pick a 2 ply head for plenty of attack and durability - Im assuming you play pretty hard... As for snare side, the hazy 300 is a popular choice.

(I have mentioned all Evans as this is what I use. I don't really care much for remo, and I see you went with the EC2 clears - Choice excellent my friend)
