Default What is the best double pedal for me to get?

Right now, I have The Gibraltar 5611 series, or, "Prowler" pedals. I bought them for $180 a few months ago, and I really don't like them. The main pedal doesn't have a plate, so it wobbles around, and they have a very inconvenient way of adjusting the position of the beaters. They're just overall bad pedals in my opinion. I have a friend that has cheap little beginner Ludwig pedals, and I actually like them for how cheap they are. The point is, I need new pedals. I prefer to spend around 200 - 300 dollars. But the highest I will go is $400. I've been thinking about trying to get some used Iron Cobras, those are at the top of my list. Also DW 3000s. If they're worth it. Maybe 5000s, if they don't cost too much. So if these pedals are good for my budget, let me know. If you have any other suggestions, please, let me know.

Well I have had my DW5000's for about ten years now. They are simple and work great, They are a very popular pedal. The new Mapex Falcon double pedal is a great price, and from what I have heard is very adjustable, and extremely smooth. It also comes in a nice soft carry case like the DW. You can also get the direct drive option for it.

Understand that you will get a lot of different answers from different people based on what they like better. Ideally, you should go try out a bunch of pedals and see what feels best, because we all play differently.

But since you asked specifically about the DW3002, I'll tell you my impressions of it: Very well built, doesn't shimmy around on the toe clamp, stays rooted to my drum rug, very easy to adjust to a comfortable beater angle, feels just right - not too heavy, not too light - love the single post slave pedal, it's very easy to snug in next to my hi-hat pedal; drum key on the baseplate is nice and should be standard for all pedals; have played several shows with it in the last three months with not one single issue. Essentially, this pedal is equivalent to what the DW5002T was five or six years ago.

Good luck!

Go with your gut on this one.
I got my Tama Iron Cobra double pedal used and in GREAT condition for $200.

I see them all The time on Craigs List in newish condition for $170 to $220.

They should come with the choice of three beater heads, plastic, wood and felt.
Also make sure you get the drum key with alan wrenches that fit into the rubber mount on the slave pedal and the Iron Cobra hard case.
