Default Tama Swingstar Heads??

I am thinking about getting new heads for my Tama Swingstar Set. Currently I have Aquarian heads that provide a nice deep, full sound to them. I am wanting less of a deep sound and more full mid range with quick response and good tone, however I would like some but not a lot of sustain.

Any suggestions for heads? I know its a very specific sound but my route of thinking so far has led me to Evans G2 coated / EC2 coated.

Much Thanks!

Check out the Aquarian Response 2. It's a 2-ply head like the G2.

Or maybe a 1-ply for the "less of a deep sound". Something like the Studio-X may work for you.

If it helps, I used Response 2s on my Swingstar with Classic Clear resos. I got a nice open tone from that combination.

i run ec2s and it sounds to me like they'll put out what you want. they are a tad deeper than some heads with a nice attack and pleasant but rather short sustain. the g1 head i had on my other tom is LOUD, and goes forever lol. RIIIIIIIING.

i'd give those ec2s a shot - took me a while, but they are growing on me now. plus, they look really good haha. :)
